INDEPENDENT MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS (IME’s)

SCS offers professional IME’s throughout the United States for the claims community. Our doctors are fully accredited medical professionals and must meet rigorous criteria to join our national panel. We assist the claims professionals, third party administrators, employers and government entities with meeting jurisdictional concerns and making sure all state requirements are met.

WORKERS' COMPENSATION IME's
  • Workers' Compensation IME's are scheduled according to perspective state guidelines.
  • SCS examining physicians are all certified by the applicable state workers compensation board.
  • Our doctors return their reports within twenty-four hours of the examination.
  • Reports are reviewed by a team of claims examiners, workers compensation specialist and nurses to ensure that all of the issues in the referral are addressed.
  • Return to work and transitional duty recommendations are discussed in reports.
  • Distribute necessary documentation and reports to the required agencies per state regulations (e.g. NY State WC guidelines 137).
  • Support Claim Services understands that it is essential that all Workers' Compensation reports are delivered in compliance with State regulated mandates and time frames.

AUTO (NO-FAULT) IME's

  • Support Claim Services, Inc. obtains, organizes and forwards medical records to the examining physician.
  • SCS has compiled a National Panel of Board-Certified Physicians that actually practices in the area of examination.
  • After the examination, the reports are reviewed by a team of experienced former claims adjusters and nurses to ensure that all questions asked in the referral are answered.
  • If a Doctor recommends continued treatment and/or a follow up exam; SCS automatically alerts the client; sets-up the re-evaluation at the appropriate time.
  • SCS requests additional medical records and provides them to the examining physician.
  • Denials of claims are prepared for examinations that indicate there is no evidence of disability or need for further treatment(e.g. NY State NF10).
